Absorption Design Sound reduction is a critical design concern with any exhaust system. Standard exhausts use a series of pates to slow the exhaust gases, but ultimately this leads to an increase in back pressure. Jetex exhausts have no baffles; instead, noise is reduced by absorption through a central perforated tube. Consequently there is less gas flow restriction and so back pressure is reduced. Torque is increased and engine performance enhanced.

Mandrel Bends It is essential that gas flow from the engine is unrestricted and flows smoothly along the full length of the exhaust system. All Jetex bends (where possible) are mandrel bent rather than cut and welded to ensure that gas flow is undisturbed and the exhaust remains extremely efficient. Back pressure is reduced and engine performance increased.

Group “A” Pipe Diameter Where possible Jetex exhausts are made form a minimum 2” (50.8 cm) diameter pipe. In some cases on turbo cars bore size is increased to 2.5” (63.5cm). This increased bore size releases optimum performance figures. On some modern systems Jetex has increased bore size to an incredible 3” (76cm) all in the quest of efficiency and performance gains. Rolled Tailpipes Most Jetex tailpipes are made from stainless steel, with rolled inward ends. In most cases there are special inserts which ensure you get a sporty tone rather than a nasty raspy exhaust note. There are numerous tailpipe choices available.
