Momo History
Momo is one of the original car styling accessory companies. It all started when Giampiero Moretti, an amateur racing driver, asked a friend to make a special steering wheel for his race car. It was smaller than other steering wheels of the time and had a very original feature - large handgrips made the steering wheel much easier to hold. This made the car easier to handle and attracted the attention of such notable names as the UK’s F1 champion John Surtees at Ferrari.
Demand for this new style of steering wheel grew rapidly and in 1966 Momo (stands for Moretti-Monza) was formed with Ferrari being one of the first customers. Since then Momo has gone from strength to strength becoming a global supplier of many car styling products including gear knobs, handbrake handles and road wheels. |
