After selling the Lupo in summer 2005 we wanted to build a more reliable safer car that could be driven long distances abroad without problems and could be used on an everyday basis. The Lupo had proved to be too extreme for everyday use and we needed a car to be useable.
Then, one saturday I stumbled across this VW Golf Mk 2 in the Auto Trader. Many hardcore dubbers may recognise the car when they hear the registration plate...A11 G60. For anyone too young to remember, this was one of the first cars Oxford Edition produced, built way back in 95/96. The car was originally peppermint green running a highly modified G60 lump. A11 G60 was previously owned by a good friend of mine but sadly when he sold it the new owners let it go.
The plan was to buy it and restore it to its former glory. However things never go to plan, rust and dodgy paint gave me the only option of a full re-paint or totally revamp the car and give it a more modern twist...we did the latter!
